The Southwestern Ohio Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC-SWO) invites high school students to submit entries for the Make It Clear! writing competition.

Make It Clear! is a local effort that is part of the International Student Technical Communication Competition. STC-SWO sponsors this writing competition to achieve the following objectives cited by the ITSCC:

  • Encourage students to develop and demonstrate the technical communication skills they need to enter scientific, technical, and business careers.
  • Recognize excellence in technical communication at the high school level. (Participation in the ITSCC provides a unique opportunity for upper-level high school students to earn international recognition of their communication excellence.)
  • Share information about the nature, role, and importance of technical communication in business, industry, and education.
  • Stimulate objective thought, critical analysis and communication ability.

Participating students must be in grades 10 through 12, with each entrant submitting only one entry.

For entry forms, writing guidelines, and more information about judging criteria, please refer to the Make It Clear! section of the Chapter Web site.
