Welcome to BTL
by Judy Harper
This year's edition of Between the Lines has a new look that serves up several new benefits for members.
- Our new publication schedule–every month between September and May–will give you timely info about upcoming meetings and community activities, all in one place.
- Our new blog-like format makes it easy for you to express your opinions about any article in the newsletter, about community activities, about any techcomm-related topic you choose. Scroll to the bottom of any article and click the e-mail link at the bottom of each article, or complete the fields in the Leave a Comment area at the bottom of each article.
- If you want a printed copy of any newsletter article, click the Print link just below the article to display a print-ready page.
So you'll know whom to thank (or complain to) regarding the newsletter, this is your introduction to this year's Between the Lines staff.

If you're a member of STC-SWO, this is your newsletter. Please let us know what you want to read on its screens. And tell us what you think about what you do read in each issue.
Thanks
Anonymous @ 8:56 am:
Looks nice, and there may be some who like the blog format. However, there is no way to move sequentially through the newsletter (Next and Previous links would be nice). Also, the navigation links in the left and the right columns do not show which links have been visited by changing color, so it's not possible to know what one has already seen. Some, but not all of the links seem to be duplicated on both the left and right sides of the page - again, making it difficult to know if one has seen the entire newsletter. Finally, the spacebar does not work to move down the page (at least in IE 6).
Thanks,
Anonymous

Good comments, Anonymous.
- Color change for visited/not-yet visited links: easy to do, will be implemented ASAP.
- Next and Previous links: not really hard, will be implemented after the color change.
- Duplicate links: this one makes me have to think
but should be fixable. Will work on it.
- spacebar not working: have no clue what to do about that. Do any other readers have ideas about that?
BTW, Anonymous, please let us know who you are. Your comments are perfectly valid and very useful; I like to offer public thanks.
