SWO Members Are Out and About

Our community members are a busy bunch, but they carve out chunks of time to spend in making the most of STC membership: exploring the fascinating world of technical communication, developing and honing marketable skills, and building strong, mutually beneficial networks. Let's look at a few of their activities in the past few months.

The Crucial Communicator

The Northeast Ohio community rolled out an excellent regional conference on October 12. As a featured speaker, Associate Fellow Thea Teich presented her popular session about the changing landscape of the English language:  When Did Google Become a Verb?  Our October meeting featured a fascinating close-to-home version of this session.

With SWO Membership Lead Jackie Watkins and BTL editor Judy Harper both in attendance, the Southwestern Ohio community was well represented.

Putting On a Webinar

On September 26, the Society sponsored a web seminar about putting on a successful webinar: "How to Put on a Web Seminar," presented by Jane Smith. Senior Member Louise Tincher attended and provided this informative report.

The STC web site also provides a downloadable features comparison matrix of available webinar vendors.
